The Education Programs Consultant (EPC) (or Education Programs Assistant (EPA)) in the Focused Monitoring and Technical Assistance for Small Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) unit, or "FMTA-S" unit, will be responsible for monitoring a portion school districts with fewer than 100 students with disabilities for their compliance with state and federal special education laws. The EPC (or EPA) will be responsible for acquiring expertise in one or more Small Monitoring processes and will evaluate LEAs for compliance with state and federal mandates. The EPC (or EPA) will also be responsible for providing technical assistance to members of the public including school districts, parents, students, and other members of the community. The EPC (or EPA) will further need to be capable of creating written materials, graphics, presentation materials, and videos for distribution to relevant members of the public in accordance with California Department of Education guidelines.
